THE HOLLEY SHIELD. WON BY ST. PATRICK’S. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, August 18. Playing brilliant football. St. Patrick’s, Silverstream, won the Holley Shield for the fifth time in seven years by severely trouncing St. Bede’s, Christchurch, in the annual inter-col-legiate match, the score being 47-0. In a game played as a curtain-raiser, Te Ante College, Moascar Cup holders, beat Palmerston North High School, 17-3. Today’s games were arranged as a special quadrangular tournament to assist in celebrating the Manawatu Rugby Union’s golden jubilee.
