BOXING DISPUTE
LYNCH-ARMSTRONG BOUT NEW YORK, August 17. ' The Boxing Commission has tried to make the Lynch-Armstrong bout officially only for the light weight title by having Mike Jacobs and the two managers sign an agreement that only one title is at stake. The National Boxing Association insists that the welterweight title is also involved.
DAVIS CUP ■ ♦ DRAW FOR THE INTER-ZONE FINAL. BOSTON, August 17. The Australian and German Davis Cup teams, who will meet in the interz<Jne final, practised vigorously today, Henkel’s arm did not appear troublesome. Hopman, the Australian captain, told the Australian Associated Press that he thinks Bromwich to be in good enough form to win the singles. The draw for the Davis Cup interzone final between Australia and Germany is as follows: — Opening singles: J. Bromwich (Australia) v. H. Henkel (Germany); A. Quist (Australia) v. G. Metaxa (Germany).
Doubles: A. Quist and J. Bromwich (Australia) v. G. Metaxa and H. Henkel (Germany). Final singled: A. Quist (Australia), v. H. Henkel (Germany), J. Bromwich (Australia) v. G. Metaxa (Germany).
