BOMBING OF TOWNS

The commission of two British officers appointed to investigate cases of alleged indiscriminate bombing of open towns in Spain is reported to be on its way to Alicante.
MADRID SHELLED. TEN KILLED & 23 WOUNDED. (Recd This Day, 9.10 a.m.) MADRID, August 17. Ten persons were killed and twentythree wounded as a result of heavy shelling lasting for ninety minutes.
