PALESTINE BANDITS

RAID MADE ON PRISON INSPECTOR AND WARDER WOUNDED. JEWISH FAMILY KIDNAPPED. (Recd This Day, 9.10 a.m.) HAIFA, Aug. 17. A British police inspector and an Arab warder were wounded during a bandit raid on the Athlit Prison. A Jewish police inspector, his wife, mother-in-law and three children have been kidnapped. A detachment of the Second Royal West Kent Regiment is searching for them.
