Mrs S. L. P. Free, of Masterton, is visiting Wellington. Mr and Mrs James Andrew, Tinui, have returned from a visit to Nelson. ’ Miss Mary Brisco, Wellington, will be spending the term holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs Hylton Brisco, Te Ore Ore. Mrs R. C. Drummond, Lansdowne, is at present visiting Auckland, where she is farewelling her son, Mr Hugh Drummond, who sails by the Tainui for England today.. Mr Drummond is to! study for three years at Oxford University. Members of the P. and T. staff and other friends assembled at the residence of Mrs C. Rea on Sunday and tendered a parcel evening to Mr and Mrs J. Stringer who spent the evening in Featherston while returning to Porangahau from their honeymoon. Mr Stringer introduced his bride and returned thanks for the kindness shown by his Featherston friends. Mrs Guy Williams (manager), Mrs R. Fullerton-Smith, Mrs D. Crombie, Misses Valmai Fleming, Jean Horwell, and Pat Helean, members of the Tasman Cup golf team, who are at present in Sydney, will leave by the Wanganella on Friday, August 26, on their return journey to New Zealand. Mrs W. C. Fleming, Christchurch, who with her daughter, Miss Valmai Fleming, has been spending several months in Australia/will return to New Zealand by the same ship.
