SPANISH REBELS CAPTURE MOUNTAIN BARRIER WAY CLEARED TO EBRO. ITALIAN CASUALTIES. (Recd This Day, 12.55 p.m.l LONDON, August 16. “The Times” Burgos correspondent says that after several days of hard fighting the insurgents have dislodged the Republicans from the Sierra de Pandola and now completely occupy the most important mountain obstacle which barred their advance to the Ebro. The insurgents say the Republican resistance is stiffening owing to reinforcements being hurried up. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Rome correspondent says the latest list of Italian casualties in Spain includes 159 killed in the recent advance on Albentoso and brings the total Italian casualties to 11,468. CABINET RESIGNS. RECONSTRUCTION EXPECTED. (Recd This Day, 12.55 p.m.) BARCELONA, August 16. The Negrin Cabinet has resigned. It is believed that it shortly will be reconstructed.
