ARMY COMMISSIONS

INCREASE IN APPLICATIONS EXPECTED. IMPROVED CONDITIONS IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 15. The improved service conditions for Army officers announced recently by Mr Hore-Belisha, Minister of War, will, it is expected, be followed by a considerable increase in the number of competitors for the cadet colleges. Anticipation of the changes may have accounted for the total number of candidates for the Sandhurst and Woolwich entrance examination in June being 444 —the largest since the war.
