MORE AIRCRAFT
NEW FACTORY IN VICINITY OF MANCHESTER ERECTION PLANNED AT COST OF £1,000,000 ANNOUNCEMENT BY AIR MINISTER (British Official Wireless.) (Recd This Day, 10.25 a.m.) RUGBY, August 16. The Air Minister (Sir Kingsley Wood), who paid a visit to Messrs A. V. Roe’s aircraft factory at Newton Heath (Manchester), announced that' it had been decided to entrust the erection of a £1,000,000 aircraft factory to Messrs Roe. It is expected that the new factory will be erected somewhere in the Manchester area and that within a year 5,000 workmen will be employed there.
