BRIDE-TO-BE
PRESENTATIONS AT SOLWAY. The residents of Solway tendered a social to Miss Nancy Golder last night in the Solway Church to mark the occasion of approaching marriage. Miss Golder, who has been organist at the Solway Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher for many years, has rendered excellent service in connection with the work of the church, and occasion was taken last night by members of the congregation to show their appreciation in this connection. Miss Moyra Scott, on behalf of the Sunday School children, presented Miss Golder with a hearthrug and Mrs Woollett handed to Miss Golder a beaten brass log box from members of the church. Little Thelma Woollett presented Miss Golder with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. On behalf of Miss Golder, Mr E. Fitzgerald thanked the donors for their very handsome gifts. Supper was provided by a ladies’ committee consisting of Mesdames Brader, Woollett, Moore, Butt, Misses M. Palmer and E. Brader. On Saturday night Miss Golder was the guest of honour at a kitchen tea given by a number of lady friends, when she was the recipient of many useful gifts. Mr Percy Welch, on behalf of Miss Golder, returned thanks in a neat speech.
