FORESTERS’ LODGE

COURT LOYAL ENTERPRISE. MEETING IN MASTERTON. The fortnightly meeting of Court Loyal Enterprise, Ancient Order of Foresters, was held last evening. 1.P.C.R. Bro. R. Crocker presided in the absence of C.R. Bro. T. N. N. Coley, who is indisposed. Members expressed sympathy with Bro. Coley and, wished him a speedy recovery. An invitation was received frpm the Hibernians’ Society for a Forester to attend their jubilee function on August 20. Bro. Coley was appointed to represent the Court, and if unable to attend Bro. R. Davies was nominated as his substitute.

A circular appeal was received from the secretary of the Island Leper Christmas gift fund. An amount similar to that of last year was donated. Bro. J. Barr reported on the Dispensary Board meeting. Bro. Walker reported on the card tournament held at Eketahuna. Court Makakahi was the winner of the shield from the holders, Court Kopuaranga. The next tournament will be held in Masterton on August 27. Sick pay claims amounting to £2l 5s were passed for payment.

At the conclusion of the meeting a game of indoor bowls was played with the Druids, the contest resulting in a draw. A very enjoyable time was spent.
