THE ALL BLACKS
SUCCESS OF AUSTRALIAN TOUR. MANAGERS ON THE OUTLOOK. SYDNEY, Aug. 15. Mr A. McDonald, one of the managers of the All Blacks, in a farewell interview today, said: “The tour has been a phenomenal success and should dispel the pessimistic view in New Zealand that our Rugby is on the down grade. “I have no hesitation in saying that, with the material we have and the young players coming on, we shall be well able to hold our own on the South African tour in 1940. I thank the people of Australia who, on this tour, have broken their own record for hospitality.” Dr Adams, the other manager, said that Australian Rugby was well up to international standard. “It has been tested by one of the best teams that ever left New Zealand.”
