CONSUMPTION OF APPLES
• * GREAT DIMINUTION SHOWN IN BRITAIN. (Recd This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 15. The Imperial Economic Committee’s report on fruit supplies in 1937 shows that the consumption of apples —20.4 lb per head of ’ population—was the lowest in recent years, comparing with 25.81 b per head in 1936 and 31.81 b per head in 1934.
