WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT TINUI. The president (Mrs Atkinson) presided over a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Tinui Women’s Institute. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect in connection with the death of Mrs Crewe. As Mrs Atkinson is leaving the district, opportunity was taken to farewell her. Mrs Campbell, on behalf of members of the institute, presented Mrs Atkinson with a gift, thanking her for her untiring work and assistance to the institute. Mrs O'Hara received a hearty vote of thanks for her very interesting report on the conference. Competitions for the month resulted as follows:—Best bloom, Miss S. Atack l, Mrs E. Schofield 2, Mrs Carman 3. Best meat mould, Mrs Carman 1, Mrs S. Schofield 2, Mrs E. Schofield 3.' ’Best novelty, Miss D. Groves I, Mrs Carman 2, Miss Townsend 3. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs Perry and Misses D. Groves and P. French. The’singing of the National Anthem brought the meeting to q close.
