TRUSTEE DIRECTORS
PROPOSAL IN AUSTRALIA. ASSURANCE COMPANY SAFEGUARDS. (Recd This Day, 10.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Minister of Justice (Mr Martin) stated that the Government contemplated legislation to provide for the appointment of trustee directors of all assurance companies with share capital, and for certain classes of trust companies. Under this proposal, trustee directors would be elected by policy holders, in the case of assurance companies, and by debenture holders, in the case of trust companies, and would represent their interests on the directorates of the companies.
