MASTERTON CLUB. PAIRS CONTEST DRAWING TO A CLOSE. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club has brought the pairs section nearly to its conclusion. Kennard (s) and Curtin are equal with Leigh (s) and Buckley, each having won twelve games and lost three. The final will be played between these two teams on Wednesday at 8 o’clock on No. 1 green. Last week’s results were as follow: — L. Roff 11 beat Lewis 9; Leigh 16 beat Joyce 9; Fenton 13 beat Ferguson 12; Davies beat Vincent; Hendry 14 beat Kennard 13; C. Roff 18 beat Edwards 11; Edwards 21 beat Fenton 15; Pickering 15 beat Finlayson 11; Davies 14 beat Fenton 13; Hendry 18 beat Ferguson 12; Leigh 14 beat Thompson 9; Davies 16 beat Dixon 14; L. Roff 14 beat Dixon 13; Vincent 20 beat Lewis 15; Kennard 14 beat Joyce 12; Reeves beat Thompson; Edwards 13 beat Hendry 12; L. Roff 16 beat Davies 6. The following are the games arranged for this week: —Wednesday, 7 p.m., No. 1, Pickering v. Thompson; No. 2, Edwards v. Dixon. 8 p.m. No. 1, Leigh v. Kennard; No. 2, Vincent v. Finlayson. 9 p.m., No. I, Joyce v. Reeves; No. 2, C. Roff v. Fenton. Wednesday being the only available evening this week the singles competition will commence next week.
