VERDICT OF ACCIDENT

NEW ZEALAND AIRMAN’S DEATH. FATAL CRASH IN SOLENT. (Recd This Day, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 12. A verdict of accidental death by drowning was returned by the coroner at the inquest into the death of the New Zealander, Pilot-Officer Robertson. A doctor gave evidence that PilotOfficer Robertson probably was knocked out by the crash. ' Pilot-Officer Robertson was engaged with other Air Force Officers in tor-pedo-bombing practice in the solent. His machine failed to recover from a dive and plunged into the water.
