WIDESPREAD DAMAGE DONE IN BRITAIN LIGHTNING KILLS CHILD IN NOTTINGHAM. FLOODS IN MANY AREAS. (British Official Wireless). (Recd This Day, 10.5 a.m.) RUGBY, August 12. London has been visited by thunderstorms and many roads in the western suburbs are flooded and traffic is stopped. Some buildings were struck by lightning, which caused the death of a child in Nottingham. This morning damage was done by lightning and floods in Manchester, where the worst storm for many years was experienced.
