At a meeting at a white-walled farmhouse, near the desolated Changkufeng Hill, the Russian and Japanese military representatives agreed to the exchange of written notes at noon today confirming the .. armistice. Meanwhile, it is agreed that the corpses be removed from the sight of the troops. The Japanese Foreign Office claims that the armistice permits Japan to retain Changkufeng Hill'and hints that the proposed boundary commission will possibly settle the entire frontier between Korea, Manchukuo, and Russia. The question of a non-aggression pact may also be discussed. Japanese casualties are officially estimated at 300 killed and 600 wounded. The Japanese claim that the Soviet casualties are 3000.
REPORTED ATTACK FIRING BY SOVIET GUARDS ON JAPANESE INCIDENT IN MANCHUKUO (Recd This Day, 9.40 a.m.) TOKIO, August 12. Soviet guards are reported to have fired on a Japanese parliamentarian and his party in the Handazawa district of Manchukuo, wounding one Japanese. PUBLICATION IN MOSCOW MOSCOW, August 12. The terms of the armistice in the Manchukuo border fighting are published here without comment, but it is intimated that both sides will be enabled to end their disputes without the abandonment of their principles.
