HARRIER ACTIVITIES

KIATERE CLUB. On Saturday the Kiatere Harrier Club will travel to Wellington, to compete with the Olympic Harrier Club, the occasion being the final race for the J. Turnbull Cup. The race will be held over a 61 mile course at Lyall Bay, comprising road, sand and hills. Members are making the trip by private cars. In the first race of this season for the Cup the local club secured a four point win. Kiatere, however, will have a hard task to retain the trophy, as the Olympic Club is this season the second leading club in Wellington, and will be on their home ground. A sealed handicap will be run in conjunction with this .race the winner of which will receive a medal which has been presented by Mr Dave Turnbull, a keen supporter of the club. In the evening the Kiatere Club members will be the guests at a dance to be held in their honour.
