BASKETBALL
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION COMPETITION. CARTERTON WINS B GRADE. There will be no more ordinary matches arranged by the Wairarapa Basketball Association. The arrangements for the next two Saturdays are as follow: — Saturday, August 13: Practice of representative A and B teams, commencing at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 20: A knockout tourpament to finish the season. Entries will be received by the secretary before Tuesday, August 16. Cups will be presented to the winning teams. The B grade has resulted as follows: — Team Plyd. Wins Loss. Pts.
As was previously announced the A grade has been won by Stars I with lona runner-up. All money for the Queen Carnival is to be handed into the secretary by Saturday, August 13.,
TECHNICAL OLD GIRLS’ TEAM. The following is the Technical Old Girls’ basketball team to play tomorrow: —Forwards, D. Smith N. Needham, J. Snelgrove; centres, D. Walker,M. Gillespie; defence, P. Clarke, C. Jorgenson (captain), Betty Kummer.
