HOSPITAL RATING

INCREASED SUBSIDY URGED . (“Times-Age” Special.) The Featherston County Council at its meeting this morning, approved a resolution forwarded by the Kairanga County Council protesting against the growing incidence of hospital rating, and urging on the Government the need for an increased subsidy. “The national health insurance will wash all this out,” observed the chairman, Mr A. B. Martin. Councillor J. Carne Bidwill: “No, it will not. That was a strong point made by the Opposition in the House. Local body levies will be increased.” Councillor R. Smith was appointed to represent the council on a deputation of local body representatives which is to place the position before the Government.
