PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) ' Mr Geo. Jaquiery, who has been managing a chemist and druggist business in Hawera, has found it necessary to take a rest, and will, it is understood, spend , a prolonged holiday in Carterton. Mrs A. Sutherland (nee Wilder), of London, who has been visiting her mother in Carterton, has gone to Wellington. She intends to spend some months in New Zealand before returning to England. It is nineteen years since Mrs Sutherland was last in the Wairarapa, and she expressed surprise at the progress which Carterton and Masterton had made. ' MINIATURE RIFLES MATCH. The Carterton and Masterton clubs fired a match on the Carterton range last evening. There was some excellent shooting, Masterton putting on the remarkable score of 98.9 per shooter, including five 99’s and three possibles. After the match supper was provided, and congratulations were extended to both teams on their performances. The following are the scores: — A grade:— Masterton: R. V. Mason, B. Jenkins, H. Duffy, 89; total, 470." , PARKVALE DAIRY COMPANY The Parkvale Co-operative Dairy Co. Ltd., opened its factory for the season yesterday, when a good supply of milk was received. FARMERS’ UNION DANCE On Saturday evening a dance under the auspices of the Carterton Branch of the Farmers’ Union is to be held at the Dalefield Hall. Popular prices of admission are notified by advertisement in this issue. ’ EX-PUPILS’ ASSOCIATION The Carterton School ex-Pupils’ Association which was formed last year at the time of the school jubilee celebrations, will hold a re-union dance next Monday evening at the King’s Theatre. The committee, which is arranging the event is making every effort to ensure the function being as successful as the inaugural dance last September. PERSONAL Mr Fossette, of Woodville, who has been appointed to the headmastership of the Carterton School, was a visitor to Carterton last Saturday.
