FEATHERSTON
BOUND FOR KENYA. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr Ivor Peterson, who has been employed at the Featherston dairy factory for the past few years, will leave New Zealand shortly to take a position in Kenya Colony, in connection with the dairy industry there. Mr Peterson is the holder of the Wairarapa middleweight wrestling title. STORM DAMAGE. Minor damage was caused by the gale on Monday afternoon, which reached its greatest height between 3 o’clock and 5 o’clock. Several windows were broken, including a plate glass window at the Royal Hotel. Roofs suffered and many wooden fences were blown down. Motorists going over the Rimutaka Hill experienced an anxious time as driving conditions were very bad. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. The winners at the Fire Brigade’s weekly euchre tournament on Tuesday night were: —Ladies: Mrs Lowell, 1; Mrs Charles, 2. Men: Mr N. Perry, 1; Mr J. Rae, 2. PERSONAL. Mrs. Vernon Reed (Bay of Islands), is spending a few, days with her brother, Mr Algar Williams, Fernside.
