WATER SUPPLIES LOW
DIFFICULTIES IN SYDNEY. HOSES TO BE USED ONLY FOR FIRES. SYDNEY, August 10. Sydney’s water supply is getting so low that it is causing official anxiety. The shortage is due to under-average rainfall for 18 months. Severe restrictions are now being imposed, precluding the use of hoses for any purpose except fires.
