THE REGENT
“WELLS FARGO.” One of the most brilliant periods in history—the opening of the Wells Fargo trail between St. Louis and San Francisco, America’s “Lifeline of Empire,” forms the powerful background for Paramount’s “Wells Fargo,” the romance with Joel McCrea and Frances Dee which is. being shown tonight at the Regent Theatre. Patterned conscientiously after the • actual events, “Wells Fargo” covers twenty years of history in bold and heroic strokes. The magic of the motion picture camera brings back to life some of the most stirring and colourful days in history in “Wells Fargo.” Bob Burns, Lloyd Nolan, Henry O'Neill, Porter Hall, Robert Cummings and Ralph Morgan are in the supporting cast which numbers over two thousand. “LONDON MELODY.” Filmgoers will have an opportunity tomorrow at the Regent Theatre of seeing Anna Neagle in a variety of guises—as a little street urchin, a housemaid, a dancing pupil and a glamorous cabaret star. One of the most amusing of these’sequences is the star’s excursion into the realm of domesticity. There are tantalising tunes, unforgettable dancing, laughter and happiness in a sparkling story.
