RELIGION IN AUSTRALIA
AN INSPIRING OUTLOOK CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR CONVENTION MELBOURNE, August 8. 'The leaders of the Christian Endeavour World Convention, which ended tonight, have been inspired by Australia’s outlook on life and its possibilities as an example of a Christian Commonwealth. Doctor Stanley Jones, Indian missionary author, said that Australia could become a Christian demonstration ground. Religious life was probably warmer here than in most countries.
The world president, Doctor Poling, said: “This has been the greatest of ten conventions held since 1896. It was unique in the history of the Christian Endeavour movement.”
