DISSENSION OVER PRIMARIES IN KENTUCKY. MAN KILLED AND OTHERS • WOUNDED. (Recd This Day, 10.45 a.m.) JACKSON (Kentucky), Aug. 5. The election primaries continue to be very bitter. A former sheriff, Lee Combs, is dead after a shooting affray between supporters of Senator Barkley, Senate Majority Leader, and Governor “Happy” Chandler. Combs’s brother and Sheriff Walter Deaton were wounded.
