GOLFING WAGER

CHICAGO BROKER TO ATTEMPT 144 HOLES CHICAGO. August 4. Starting at 12.40 a.m.. J. Smith Ferrebe, aged 31, a broker, will tomorrow attempt to play 144 holes of golf for a wager of half a Virginian plantation worth 15,000 dollars and 2500 dollars cash. Ferrebe will be accompanied by a doctor, a scorer, and three caddies, who will be changed every 30 holes. He is confident of doing 144 holes, but is worried as to whether he can “shoot" every round under 95 as wagered. Ferrebe and another broker wanted to dissolve partnership in the plantation. They could not agree on terms and finally decided on the wager.
