FILM STAR’S HELP

ASSISTANCE FOR JEWISH ' CHILDREN EDDIE CANTOR VISITS ENGLAND Eddie Cantor, the famous film comedian, went to England recently to raise funds for the benefit of Jewish children in Germany and Austria, so that they may be settled in Palestine. Of all the aspects of the Jewish tragedy, Mr Cantor has been particularly moved by the plight of the children, for whom there is no future in their native country. A special movement for the settlement of these children in Palestine and for their training in agricultural and artisan trades has been going on for the last few years, and a few thousands have already been 'happily settled. By addressing banquets and private gatherings in the United States, Mr Cantor has raised tens of thousands of dollars. He has volunteered to undertake a similar task in England and his offer has been gratefully accepted.
