Respect was paid to the memory of Mrs Crewe, all members standing in silence. One new member was elected. Mrs Caseley, who was the Martinborough delegate, gave a very comprehensive report on the Dominion Conference held recently in Wellington. Mrs John McLeod gave an interesting talk on pioneer women. The demonstration given by Mrs McFern on smocking was much appreciated by members. There was a large number of interesting articles* displayed on the “loan exhibition.” A competition for girdle scones was won by Mrs Hamilton. It was decided to assist in the relief of distress in China by contributing towards the maintenance of an orphan child for one year.
