FRENCH ATTRACTIONS
EXHIBITIONS AT RAILWAY STATIONS. Exhibitions in railway stations of Paris are growing more and more important and practical. They begin with displays of large-scale photographs of the beauty spots of France. This was followed by the addition of demonstrations by workers and artisans from different parts of France engaged in weaving tapestries or making pottery of local design. Now exhibitions in the stations include a number of lectures on the different regions of France. Musicians and dancers marked another step in thes exhibitions, performing in the brightly coloured costumes of the different- provinces. The latest exhibition, at the Gare d’Orsay, devoted to the rivers of France, includes demonstrations in fishing, canoeing and lessons in diving. It is possible to learn a lot between trains in a Paris railway station, and these exhibitions help the Parisian to choose whether he will take his holiday by the seaside or in the mountains.
