FATAL CRASH

* NOTED AIRCRAFT DESIGNER KILLED. (Recd This Day, 12.50 p.m.) LONDON, August 2. The noted aircraft designer, Captain Frank Sowter Barnwell, 0.8. E., was killed at the Bristol airport, when a monoplane he had designed for private use crashed shortly after taking Off. ’ - .n' ' ‘ ;- .’'Captain' Barnwell,.was.- aged 58 and was among the earliest aviation experimenters. He -served in the Royal Air Force in-war time.
