WHEAT PROSPECTS
OPINIONS IN CANAD# (Recd This Day, 12.45 p.m.) OTTAWA, August 2. “Prospects for a good world wheat price do not appear very bright,” stated Mr Len Hutchinson, chairman of the Alberta Wheat Pool Board.” There appears to be every possibility of more wheat than the world needs,” he said? World production figures this year exceed the bumper year of 1928 by at least two hundred million bushels. He hoped the World Wheat Advisory Board would reach an agreement similar to that of 1933? when each country agreed to sell only its allotted quota.
The Provincial Department of Agriculture declares that there has been a considerable decline in Saskatchewan crop prospects in the past -fortnight through heat and lack of moisture.
