ORDER OF FORESTERS

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. INTER-LODGE TOURNEY. The fortnightly meeting of the Foresters’ Lodge was held in the Foresters’ Hall, Masterton, last night when Bro. T. N. N. Coley, C.R., presided over a fair attendance of members. The sick visitors reported that the members on the sick list were progressing favourably. The secretary reported that one brother had declared on the -funds. Reference was made of the bereavement sustained by Bro. S. V. Sharman in the death of his father. The secretary was instructed to convcty the sympathy of the lodge to Bro. Sharman. Correspondence was received from the Eketahuna Lodge stating that the inter-lodge card tournament would be held at Eketahuna on Saturday August 13. It was requested that members wishing to take part in the tournament should hand in their names to the secretary or Bro. R. Walker without delay so that transport can be arranged. Bro. R. Davies reported on the U.F.S. Council card tournament, and Bro. C. A. Leigh reported on the indoor bowls and Saturday night card tournament. Bro. G. G. Jackson was appointed publicity agent for the lodge. It was decided to extend an invitation to the Druids’ Lodge for a return game of bowls at the close of the next meeting. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £44 8s were passed for payment.
