MAURICEVILLE
SAVAGE CLUB CONCERT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Masterton Savage Club presented last Thursday evening a concert which was much appreciated. An enjoyable dance followed, this being attended by a large crowd. WOMEN’S DIVISION. A meeting of the Women's Division was held at the home of Mrs E. Cheetham on Friday afternoon. Miss G. Heckler presided over a good attendance. Miss E. Dagg, delegate to the recent conference, read her report. Miss Heckler urged members to join the Book Club, where there was a collection of books to suit all tastes. It was decided to ask the women of the district to hold a dance in aid of the children of Spain and China. An amusing competition was won by Mrs F. Paine. Miss K. Moore, manager of the Women’s Division, Dominion Life Insurance, gave a very interesting and humorous talk on her trip to the Coronation, and said that the highlight of the trip was meeting the Queen at the Royal Garden Party. Members enjoyed this talk very much and accorded Miss Moore a vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was served and a pleasant afternoon was then brought to a close. Miss Cheetham was thanked for the use of her home. . PERSONAL. Miss C. Palmer is on a visit to her parents at Mauriceville West. Mr and Mrs Scherf and family have returned from a holiday spent in Central Hawke’s Bay. Mr A. Cameron has left on a tour of the North Auckland district.
