FEATHERSTON
CENTENARY CAMPAIGN. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a public meeting in the Anzac Hall at 8 o’clock tomorrow evening (Wednesday, August 3) the Wellington Diocesan Centenary Campaign will be launched in Featherston by the Bishop of Wellington. In every corner of the diocese this appeal is being enthusiastically received and supported, and all members of the Church of England in Featherston and district, as well as any others who are interested in this great campaign, are invited to be present at the public meeting. SOCIAL AT KAHUTARA. The Kahutara Social Club held a euchre tournament and dance in the Kahutara Hall on Saturday night when the members of the Hawke’s Bay junior football team were the guests of honour. The winners for euchre were: —Ladies: Mrs R. Chisholm, 1; Mrs R. Simmonds, 2. Men: Mr A. Newland, 1; Mr A. Feast, 2. Among the novelties provided were snowball, confetti, and balloon dances, which added gaiety to the scene. SEVERAL CASES OF MEASLES. Several cases of measles were reported over the weekend. PERSONAL. The headmaster appointed for the Featherston School, is Mr L. Hayes, of Reqftoh. who is to arrive in time to take over his duties at the commencement of tiie new term.
