The section draw for the New Zealand women’s hockey tournament, to begin on Saturday, August 27, at Gisborne, under the control of the Poverty Bay Women’s Hockey Association, is as follows. August 29. —Poverty Bay I V. Wairarapa; Ruahine v. Wellington; Taranaki v. Auckland. August 30.—Poverty Bay I v. Taranaki; Ruahine v, Auckland; Wairarapa v. Wellington. August 31. —Poverty Bay I V. Wellington; Wairarapa v. Auckland; Ruahine v. Taranaki. September 1: Poverty Bay I V. Auckland; Taranaki v. Wellington; Ruahine v. Wairarapa. Section B. August 27—Feilding v. Ashburton; Eastern v. Spiers) has chosen the following players to represent the Wairarapa at the New Zealand. senior women’s hockey tournament at Gisborne: —B. Welch (Kia Ora), Z. Pickering (Kiwi), S. Keltie (Greytown), R. Harding (Excelsior), N. Rutherford (Excelsior), E. Barnes (Excelsior), M. Rhodes (Greytown), L. Cadwallader (Greytown), M. McCarthy (Greytown), B.’Vincent (Kia Ora), E. Madsen (Excelsior), N. Page (Excelsior), H. Henderson (Kia Ora). Two more players have yet to be selected. Any player not available is asked to notify the selector as soon as possible.
