Mrs C. C. Campbell Heard, Masterton, is a visitor to Wellington. Miss Ina Merson was a Wellington visitor to Greytown over the week-end. Mrs F. Yule, jun., of Carterton, is on a visit to Featherston, being the guest of her mother, Mrs A. Viles. Mrs Algar Williams, Featherston, will be the guest of Mrs George Gould, Fendalton, Christchurch, for Grand National week. The bridesmaids at the Burt-Blatch-ford wedding on Saturday were Misses Heather Gregor, Marie Blatchford, Joyce Wyeth, Patricia Thomas and Ina Gain. Mr and Mrs Alister Buchanan have left for a fortnight’s motoring tour of the North Island. They will be guests at Miss Lorna Brodie’s wedding at Auckland next week. Miss Nora Robinson entertained about fifty young people at . a buffet dinner on Saturday evening, and later the party attended the dance in the Arcade Hall given by Mr and Mrs Trevor Beetham. Mrs Guy Williams, Heretaunga, with members of the Tasman Cup golf team, Mrs Fullerton-Smith, Hunterville, Mrs David Crombie, Wellington, Miss Jean Horwell, Timaru, and Miss Pat Helean, Hastings, will leave Wellington by the Wanganella on Thursday for Sydney. Miss Valmai Fleming, also a member of the team, has been in Sydney for the last few months.

FEATHERSTON

Mrs A. R. Bloxam, Wairoa, is the guest of Mr and Mrs H. R. BloXam, Mr and Mrs B. H. Sharp, New Plymouth, are the guests of Mr and Mrs K. H. Allen. The Featherston debutantes at the Charity Ball to be held in Masterton on August 3 will be Misses Mary O’Neale, June, Taylor and Ouida McCleod.
