PITCHED BATTLE
BRITISH TROOPS ENGAGE REBELS FIGHT NEAR NAZARETH. EIGHT RAIDERS KILLED AND 15 WOUNDED. (Recd This Day, 10.5 a.m.) HAIFA, July 31. Eight rebels were killed and fifteen wounded in a pitched battle with troops at the foot of Mount Gilboa, near Nazareth. Jewish decoys were sent out to draw the rebels’ fire, whereupon the troops rushed up. A quantity of rifles and ammunition was captured. Jerusalem’s' communication with the outside world is seriously interrupted this morning as the result of the severing of telephone wires.
