INDOOR BASKETBALL
INTER-HOUSE COMPETITION. FIRST ROUND COMPLETED. '—-— The concluding games in the first round of the inter-house indoor basketball competition being held under the auspices of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. were played last week. The results are as follow: Faulknors beat Harcombes - by default; C. Smith, Ltd beat Reliance Tyre Co, 9/8. The present position of teams is as follows: —C. Smith, Ltd, 8 points; Faulknors, 6 points; Reliance Co, 4 points; P. Hamill and Co, 2 points; Harcombes, nil. The first games of the second Around of the competition will be played on Wednesday night. At 6.30 o’clock, Hamills will play Harcombes (referees, Messrs Leete and Handy) and at 7.5 o’clock Faulknors will meet Smiths (referees, Messrs Greagor and Bate). Reliance have a bye.
