THE COAL STRIKE THREAT IN AUSTRALIA ' INTERVENTION BY STATE GOVERNMENT. MINISTER TO INVESTIGATE COMPLAINTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. SYDNEY, July 27. “The Sun” newspaper reports that the State Government has decided to intervene to try and prevent the threatened general strike in the coal industry. The Cabinet has authorised the Minister of Labour, Mr Mair, to visit to southern and northern coalfields to investigate complaints and report to the Government whether madiatory action should be taken.
