BRITISH APPOINTMENT TO NEW ZEALAND AS PART OF CONSULTATION SYSTEM. SIR H. BATTERBEE'S POST. (Recd This Day, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, July 27. Sir Harry Batterbee has been appointed British High Commissioner to New Zealand, in accordance with the Government’s policy of developing a system of consultation and communication between England and the Dominions. Sir Harry Fagg Batterbee, K.C.M.G., z K.C.V.0., has been Assistant Under Secretary of State Dominions Office since 1930. He is 58 years of age and married in 1909 Eleanor Laura, daughter of the late Rev John Harding. He was Political Secretary to the Duke of York during the Australian and New Zealand tour, 1927.
