U. SCOTT CASE

APPEAL DISMISSED. I (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 27. The appeal of H. Stafford, owner of Pot Luck, against U. Scott being placed first in the third heat of the third qualifying race of the inter-Dominion trotting championship at Addington on April 26, has been dismissed by the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association. The association held that the fact that the acting-chairman of the judicial committee, purporting to act in such capacity and on behalf of the committee, gave permission for U. Scott to race with a change of gear might reasonably be held to exonerate the owner of U. Scott, Mr J. R. McKenzie, from disqualification.
