BASKETBALL
QUADRANGULAR TOURNAMENT This year for the first time a quadrangular secondary schools basketball tournament will be held in Mastertoh, the schools to take part being Wellington East Girls’ College, Hutt Valley < High School,, Dannevirke -High School and Wairarapa College. Each school will enter one team only and Friday, August 12, will see some forty girls engaged in contests which should be very even and most interesting to watch. The draw has resulted as follows:— Friday, August 12, 2 p.m.: Wellington East Girls’ College v Dannevirke High School; 3 p.m.: Wairarapa College v Hutt Valley High School. On Saturday morning, commencing at 9,15 . a.m., the two losing teams will play each other, and at 9.45 a.m. the two' winning teams will play for the honours of the tournament. All interested are cordially invited to visit the Wairarapa College courts to see the pick of these secondary schools in action. Basketball is always a good game to watch and these matches should prove most exciting, ■
