SACRED CONCERT
FINE PROGRAMME IN KNOX CHURCH. An exceptionally fine sacred concert was given in Knox Church last night by the choir and assisting artists, who included Mr and Mrs Russell J. Laurenson, of Wellington. The programme was as folows: —Anthem, “The Wilderness” (Goss), the choir; organ solo, “Overture in E Minor” (Morandij, Mr Charles W. Kerry; solo, “Just for Today” (Seaver), Mrs Silvester; solo, “Supplication” (Beam), Mr J. Douglas; solo, Negro spiritual, Mrs Laurenson; anthem, “How Calmly the Evening” (Elgar), the Choir; solo, “Calvary” (Rodney), Mr G. Masters; organ solo, “Offertoire in D Flat” (Salome), Mr Charles W. Kerry; solo, “The Lord’s Prayer,” Mr Russell J. Laurenson; anthem, “By Babylon’s Wave” (Gounod), the Choir; chorus, “Gloria in Excelsis Deo” (Mozart), the Choir; solo, “Bless this House” (Brahm), Mr H. 8.. Massey; solo, “Beside Still Waters” (Hamblen), Mrs Traynor; violoncello solo, “Largo” (Handel), Mr E. F. Wilson; anthem, “Breathe on me, Breath of God” (Noble), the Choir; solo, Negro spiritual, Mrs Laurenson; organ solo, “Finale in B Flat” (Wolstenholme), Mr Charles W. Kerry; aria, “The Trumpet Shall Sound” (Handel), Mr Russell J. Laurenson; chorus, “Hallelujah” (Handel), the Choir.
