OPTIMIST CLUB

INTERESTING ADDRESSES. The weekly meeting of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. Optimist Club was held last night, the Chief Smiler, Optimist Frank Gillions, presiding. Following tea and a sing-song, two interesting addresses were given by club members. Optimist George Barr spoke on “Firearms,” and Optimist Chris Greagor’s subject was “Colour Engineering.” Arrangements were made for a debate between club members, to be held on Tuesday week. The subject of the debate will be: "That in the present circumstances Great Britain’s policy of establishing defensive measures is in the interests of world civilisation.”
