The city is celebrating today the commemoration of the assassination of Dr Dollfuss, murdered Austrian antiNazi Chancellor, the celebrations being designed to take the place of the memorial Masses in his honour offered in previous years. Today is being devoted to the glorification of Planetta and his 12 associates who were hanged for the murder. A feature of the celebration, is a special parade of the survivors of the plot The city of Graz has been proclaimed the capital of the revolution, it has been a stronghold of anschluss sentiment since 1934. DIVIDED BY GULF NAZI AND BRITISH OPINION LONDON, July 25. In an editorial today, “The Times,’’ says that nothing better illustrates the wide gulf between Nazi outlook and British and other opinion than the honouring of the Dollfuss murderers. Dollfuss died in a spirit of Christian charity, forgiving his murderers. “Is it too much to hope that the conquerors will show the same spirit? Schuschnigg is languishing untried in solitary confinement because, like Dollfuss, he did what he saw to be his duty.”
