VON NIDA BEATS FERRIER SYDNEY", July 24. Brilliant golf in The Lakes open championship on Saturday, between J. Ferrier and N. Von Nida, resulted in a .dramatic finish. Although Ferrier- returned a course record card of 66, which is six under par, in the final round, Von Nida equalled and won with an aggregate of 277, his figures for the four-rounds reading 70, 70, 71, and 66. Ferrier was runner-up with 283, 75. 70, 72, 66.
