WAIRARAPA CLUB. TWO MEN TIME TRIAL. The Wairarapa Club held an 18 mile two-men time trial on Saturday. This class of event, which is new to the Wairarapa, besides being a novelty provided very close competition. D. Mayes, a novice who was paired off with the scratch man K. Woollett, assisted the pair to gain first place. They were the first to start and the others were sent away at intervals of two minutes. In second place there was a dead heat between G. McAliece and L. Green and C. Dykes and W. Gay. The former pair set off two minutes before the latter and did not gain- or lose in time. The results are as follow: —K. Woollet and D. Mayes 43 min 4sec 1; G. McAliece and L. Green, and C. Dykes and W. Gay, 43min 22sec, dead heat 2. It is the intention of the Club to hold another race in Carterton within the next few weeks as a prominent Carterton sportsman has promised to donate a trophy for it. Later on a oneman time trial run in conjunction with a sealed handicap will be held. For this event two club members, K. Woollett and C. Dykes, intend presenting a trophy with the proviso that they are not eligible to win the trophy.
