BURGLARS AGAIN
W.F.C.A. PREMISES ENTERED. QUANTITY OF GOODS TAKEN. A quantity of goods and a few shillings were taken by burglars from the Queen Street shop of the W.F.C.A. Ltd. over the weekend. The full extent of the loss will not be known until a thorough check of stock has been made. A puzzling feature of the affair is how the intruders gained entry. There appear to be no signs of broken windows or locks tampered with from the outside. On the inside, however, locks broken on several doors indicate the efforts of the burglars to effect an exit. It is thought that the intruders secreted themselves in the shop prior to closing time on Saturday. They eventually broke out through a high window leading on to a roof. The strong room at the W.F.C.A. defied the efforts of the burglars, who created considerable confusion by pulling out desk and other drawers. An unsuccessful attempt was also made to start a motor-car in a nearby private garage. The W.F.C.A. job follows on a burglary at the Riverside Golf links last week, when little of value was taken.
